Manufacturing a Metal Anchor Structure for a Flagpole Foundation

We manufactured a metal anchor structure designed for securing a flagpole. The structure is installed in a pre-prepared foundation pit and embedded in concrete, forming a strong and reliable base for the flagpole. The flagpole base is subsequently mounted onto the threaded sections remaining above the concrete and secured with nuts.

Structure

The main load-bearing elements are made from Ø25 mm steel round bars.

One end of each bar is threaded for subsequent attachment of the flagpole, while the other end is bent according to the project requirements with a radius of 200 mm. The bent section provides reliable anchoring of the structure inside the concrete.

The mounting plate was cut from sheet steel using a CNC laser cutting machine.

Manufacturing Process

The following metalworking operations were carried out during production:

• assembly and welding of the components;

• machining of Ø25 mm steel round bars;

• threading the ends of the bars;

• bending the steel bars according to the specified project dimensions;

• CNC laser cutting of the sheet metal plate.

The bent bars were welded both to the mounting plate and, where required, to each other, forming a single rigid anchor structure.

How the Anchor Foundation Works

The completed metal structure is installed in the prepared foundation pit, after which its entire lower section is embedded in concrete.

The upper threaded sections of the bars remain above the concrete surface. Once the concrete has cured, the supporting base of the flagpole is mounted onto them and secured with nuts.

This design provides stable and reliable attachment of the flagpole while also allowing it to be removed or replaced when necessary without demolishing the concrete foundation.

The result is a complete metal anchor system designed for installation inside a concrete foundation, providing reliable flagpole attachment and transferring the mechanical loads generated during operation into the foundation.
