Manufacturing Custom Designer Pendant Lights

We manufactured 9 custom designer pendant lights based on the customer’s project and interior design concept. The fixtures were intended for an office space and varied in size, measuring approximately Ø350–750 mm in diameter and 900 mm in height.

The main challenge of the project was to create a metal frame that was as lightweight as possible while remaining rigid and reliable, all while preserving the appearance defined by the designer.

Structure

The internal load-bearing frame was produced from sheet steel. The required profiles were manufactured using laser cutting and CNC bending, then assembled into a single lightweight metal structure.

The cylindrical outer section of each light fixture was made from rolled sheet metal. All cylindrical components were rolled in our workshop and integrated into the main frame.

A 2 mm thick aluminum sheet was incorporated as a mounting surface for the LED strip, helping to transfer and dissipate heat generated by the LEDs.

The lower light-emitting section was covered with light-transmitting acrylic, which acts as a diffuser and helps provide more even light distribution.

Exterior Design

In accordance with the customer’s design, the cylindrical metal sections were wrapped with fabric.

This construction combines the strength of the metal frame with a softer exterior appearance that integrates well with the interior design.

Manufacturing Process

The project included:

• laser cutting of steel components;

• laser cutting of aluminum components;

• sheet metal bending;

• rolling of cylindrical sheet metal parts;

• assembly of the metal frames;

• laser welding;

• fabrication of the lower light-transmitting acrylic elements;

• fabric wrapping of the cylindrical metal sections;

• final assembly of the finished light fixtures.

The installation of the fixtures and the LED system was carried out by the customer’s construction company. For similar projects, full assembly and installation of the lighting system can also be provided if required.

Result

The final result was a set of 9 custom designer pendant lights produced in accordance with the customer’s project and the overall interior concept of the office.
